JBU: Katherine ’09

Jerry and Karin have lived in Siloam Springs for three years. Jerry is the Pastor of Landmark Baptist Church and Karin works as a Speech Therapist in Fayetteville.

"When we moved to Siloam Springs over three years ago we heard about JBU but didn't really give it much thought. When our daughter Katherine began looking at universities she didn't give JBU much thought because it was "too close to home". As we prayed and toured various schools it soon became apparent that none of them had what Katherine was looking for. That's when we looked right in our own backyard. JBU had all the components of a university that Katherine was looking for. The academic reputation and expectations at JBU are high and at the same time presented in a Christian reference. The community life and dorm life could not be matched by any other school we toured. We are fortunate to live in Siloam Springs and have the opportunity to interact with many JBU students through church and socially (its funny how quickly college kids come when you offer a home cooked meal) and found them to be a diverse group of young people with great testimonies for Christ. We are so thankful to God that He led Katherine to a school that offers so much academically and, every bit as importantly, spiritually. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve JBU through the Parent's Council."
