JBU Graduate Business Instructor Receives Prestigious Award

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 5, 2009) – Tom Verdery, JBU Graduate Business instructor, recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Procter & Gamble North America in Cincinnati, Ohio.

"We are very proud of Tom, and we believe that he is highly deserving of this honor,” said Dr. Joe Walenciak, director of Graduate Business Programs. “Tom will bring this same experience, energy and integrity into our graduate business classes.”

“I am deeply honored and humbled that I was chosen for this award,” Verdery said. “My experience at Procter and Gamble has given me so much that I am excited to share with students and business leaders in Northwest Arkansas.

Verdery now has two roles at John Brown University: Executive in Residence for the Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics and instructor in the Graduate Business Program. Verdery is also developing a China Studies Program for JBU graduate students.

This honor is given annually to a retiring P&G employee who has contributed well above and beyond expectations for the great majority of his or her career. Verdery retired this year after working at P&G for more than 34 years.
