JBU Presents Opera “Cosi fan Tutte”

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 3, 2009) – The Division of Communication and Fine Arts at John Brown University will present “Cosi fan Tutte” (“Women are like that, It's True”) Nov. 5-7. Donna Rollene, instructor of music, will direct the final performance in the Jones Recital Hall. The Berry Performing Arts Center is expected to open in time to host the fall 2010 performances.

Mozart’s opera “Cosi fan Tutte” tells the story of two soldiers who make a bet with their older (and wiser!) friend that their fiancés, those goddesses of virtue, would be faithful through severe testing – and all within 24 hours. The opera is in English, except for the arias which are in the original Italian. Fourteen students from JBU put on this tremendous show including fine singing and fine acting.

Each performance begins at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for JBU alumni and senior citizens, and $6 to non-JBU students. Tickets may be reserved by calling 479-524-7382.
