Shawnee, Okla. (January 8, 2011) - The JBU men’s basketball team cruised to a 75-50 win over St. Gregory’s (Okla.) on Saturday afternoon in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The men jump to 13-3 overall and 4-3 in the SAC.
Senior Sam Bartlett had 19 points, and junior Andy Garcia added a double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Junior Adrian Miller tossed in 13 points after sitting out most of the first half in foul trouble.
For SGU (4-7, 1-6), Dylan Lemley led the team with 10 points.
JBU controlled the game from the tip and pulled away to a 38-27 halftime lead. In the second half, things continued go the Eagles’ way as they dominated the boards and took advantage of second chance opportunities. JBU quickly put the game out of reach and hit the cruise control later in the half.
For the game, JBU shot 51.7 percent (31-for-60) while holding SGU to 37.2 percent (16-of-43) from the floor. JBU won the rebounding battle 42-25 and forced 14 turnovers.
