Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 8, 2005) - The 25th-ranked John Brown Golden Eagles stretched their win streak to 12 matches during homecoming weekend with wins over College of the Southwest (N.M.) and Texas-Permian Basin. John Brown took on College of the Southwest Friday evening and swept the Mustangs (11-10) 3-0. Tati Silva scored 12 kills and 4 aces for John Brown, and Summer Cox added 10. Elisa Mendieta contributed 5 blocks, and Christine Wells made 20 digs.
Saturday, the Golden Eagles hosted Texas-Permian Basin. The Falcons took the first game 26-30, but John Brown flipped the score in the second game, winning 30-26. UTPB won the third game 28-30, but the Golden Eagles returned the favor in the fourth game, pulling out a 30-25 win. In the fifth game, the Golden Eagles continued their season’s pattern of clutch performances, pulling away 15-8 to claim the match. Five Golden Eagles scored more than 10 kills. Tati Silva had 25 kills, 3 aces, and 19 digs. Sam Rogoff scored 17 kills, Summer Cox had 14, Taylor Young added 13, and Elisa Mendieta contributed 12 kills and 5 blocks. Libero Christine Wells made 42 digs for the Golden Eagles (20-4). Juliana Todescan made 76 assists.
John Brown will host Southern Nazarene (Okla.) Tuesday at 7:00.
