Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 22, 2004) - The JBU men’s basketball team added to their win column Monday night against Southwest Assemblies of God University. The 78-53 win puts the Golden Eagles at 6-2 for the season.
The Eagles led all game, but SWAU kept the lead below 10 for most of the first half. JBU got its biggest lead of the half off a last second half court three pointer from Brandon Cole to end the half and put the Eagles up 36-52. The Golden Eagles built on their lead in the second half, averaging a 15 pt or better lead for most of the half, and ending the game with a 78-53 win.
Junior Brandon Cole was once again the leading scorer for JBU with 22. He was 4 for 7 behind the three point line. Senior Reyjavick De Gracia was close behind with 20 and added 10 rebounds for a double double for the night. As a team, JBU shot 49% from the field, but only 40% from the free throw line.
After Thanksgiving break, the men will be back in action playing on the road against Lyon College on December 1st. Their next home game is Thursday, December 9th at 8:00 p.m.
