Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 18, 2004) - The JBU men’s and women’s swimming/diving team was in action at Hub White Pool on JBU campus Saturday against McMurry University. Neither team was able to get the win, with the girls scoring 375 to McMurry’s 534, and the men scoring 425 to McMurry’s 616.
Coach Harris commented on the meet saying, “Though we didn’t win this meet, we swam very well, and faster than the week before. We had five more National Qualifications, including three first time individual qualifiers for the year. Additional obstacles in this meet were three team members unable to participate for various reason. Hopefully next week we will be at full strength again.”
Qualifying for nationals were freshman Ashley Kenline in the 100 yd free with a time of 57.71, sophomore Mariah Rose in the 200 yd backstroke with a time of 2:22.78, and freshman Gabby McCully in the 200 yd breaststroke with a time of 2:41.03. The women’s 400 medley relay and 400 free relay also swam qualifying times for nationals.
