Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at Mid-America Christian Tournament

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (September 25, 2012) — Sam Greenleaf's two-day total of 153 propelled John Brown into the No. 7 slot at the Mid-America Christian (Okla.) Tournament this past weekend.

Despite shooting an 80 on the first day, Greenleaf was able to trim seven strokes off his previous day's tally, scoring a 73 on the second day, pacing the Golden Eagles and earning the freshman tie at the No. 20 overall position.

Also doing well on his second day of play, Stephen Allen turned in a strong performance as the freshman also posted a 73 on day two, eight strokes better than his score the previous day.

Senior Nathan Sudheimer carded a 82-80-162 performance, placing him to a No. 38 finish overall.

Finally, freshman Max Gordon shot 81-88-169 landing him tied for 46th individually.

Overall, JBU shot 324-310-634 during the two day tournament, placing them two strokes better than Kansas Wesleyan and nine strokes better than former Sooner Athletic Conference foe Northwestern Oklahoma State. John Brown just missed out on finishing in the No. 6 slot as the Golden Eagles recorded one stroke more than Central Christian (Kan.).

John Brown will now wrap up its fall season in Sterling, Kan. at the Warrior Invite. The tournament is hosted by Sterling (Kan.) and will run from Oct. 8-9.
