JBU Soccer Signs Midfielder

Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 21, 2004) — Mark Minnich, a midfielder from Overland Park, Kansas, has announced his intentions to attend John Brown University and play soccer for the Golden Eagles. Minnich, in addition to playing for his high school, Blue Valley Northwest, also played for the Premier Soccer Club. His exploits on the soccer field are matched by his work in the classroom where he has been on the Academic Honor roll for all four years of high school, was a member of the 2003 Kansas All Academic Soccer Team and received the 2003 National Soccer Coaches of America Academic Award. Mark is involved in his local church in several student leadership roles. Minnich plans to major in Engineering at John Brown University.

“Mark is a talented and enthusiastic player who should help strengthen our midfield in 2004,” commented JBU Soccer Coach Bob Gustavson. “I am excited to have him join us in the fall and look forward to working with him. Besides his abilities on the soccer field, Mark is an excellent student who should be very successful here at JBU.”

Mark is the son of Craig and Paula Minnich of Overland Park, Kansas.
