John Brown University Awards Faculty Grants
Siloam Springs, Ark (April 16, 2002) — The Institute for Learning Enhancement (TILE), in conjunction with the faculty development committee at John Brown University has awarded several grants to JBU faculty in three areas: course release grants for scholarly work, summer research grants and summer professional development grants.
A total of $22,000 in grants has been awarded to faculty members. Research grants provide $4,000 and professional development grants are awarded up to $2,000. The grants will provide JBU faculty members with the funds to pursue various research projects, writing projects and other faculty development opportunities.
Course release grants will be awarded to Lisa Brandom, professor of English, Charles Pastoor, assistant professor of English, Warren Roby, professor of language studies and David Vila, assistant professor of biblical studies.
Summer research grants will be awarded to David Vila, assistant professor of biblical studies and Frank Niles, assistant professor political science.
Summer professional development grants will be awarded to Cary Balzer, assistant professor of biblical studies, Robbie Castleman, assistant professor of biblical studies, Brian Greuel, associate professor of biology, Ed Klotz, associate professor of intercultural studies; Warren Roby, professor of language studies, Bonnie Osman, assistant professor of family studies, Warren Roby, professor of language studies, Linda Romig, professor of teacher education, Tim Wakefield, assistant professor of biology, and the division of teacher education for divisional collaboration.
