JBU Commencement Ceremony May 4th
Siloam Springs, Ark (April 29, 2002) — John Brown University will hold its spring commencement ceremony on May 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Walton Lifetime Health Complex on the campus of John Brown University. Approximately 273 students will participate in the ceremony.
Distinguished Professor Dr. Shirley Forbes Thomas will deliver the commencement address, titled “Living in an Oxymoronic World.” Thomas is dean of undergraduate studies, director of the Honors Scholars Program, and professor of English at John Brown University.
The 2002 graduating class at John Brown University includes: 40 candidates for master’s degrees, 130 candidates for traditional undergraduate degrees, and 111 candidates for undergraduate degrees through the Advance Program, JBU’s degree completion program. 24 states and 20 countries will be represented in this year’s graduating class.
This year marks JBU’s 83rd commencement ceremony. The university expects a record number in attendance and encourages guests to arrive early. Handicapped parking is available.
