Micci Gerbrandt Receives John Brown University Music Award
Siloam Springs, Ark (May 7, 2002) — Micci Gerbrandt of Enid, Okla. was recently honored with the Oiesen Music Award from the music department of John Brown University.
“We regard this award as our highest honor in the JBU music department,” said Dr. Jan Wubbena, JBU professor of music. “It is awarded to an exemplary student who is able to effectively apply what he or she has learned in the classroom to their musical performances. Micci is an ideal recipient of this award, as she has excelled in every aspect of the music curriculum at John Brown University.”
The award was presented to Micci at the Senior Awards Convocation at JBU on Friday, May 3. Micci graduated Summa Cum Laude from John Brown University on Saturday, May 4. She is a member of the Alpha Chi honor society at JBU.
Micci plans to begin her graduate education this fall at the University of Oklahoma, where she intends to study piano pedagogy.
Micci is the daughter of Richard and Marcia Gerbrandt of Enid.
John Brown University is a private university with an enrollment of over 1,600 students from 45 states and 33 countries. JBU is a member of the Arkansas Independent Colleges and Universities and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
