New hospital for NW Arkansas

(October 30, 2003) — (Fort Smith-AP) -- A new hospital is coming to Northwest Arkansas. Sparks Health System and Dallas-based Triad Hospitals Incorporated say they plan to form a capital partnership to build a new 200 to 250-bed private hospital in Fort Smith. The hospital will probably be about 400-thousand square feet. The complex will include a doctors office building and require 30 to 40 acres. It will cost about 120 (m) million dollars. The new hospital plan replaces a planned 40 (m) million expansion of the current 400-bed Sparks campus.
