Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 1, 2003) - Kyle Carter, sophomore forward from Whitehouse, Texas has been named the NAIA Region VI Player of the Week for men’s soccer. Carter led John Brown University to two wins last week. His goal on Wednesday helped JBU defeat Northeastern State University, the 22nd ranked team in NCAA Division II soccer. Then on Saturday, Carter scored another goal as the Golden Eagles defeated Belhaven College. Carter is leading the team in goals with 6 for the season and in points with 16. He is currently tied with two teammates for top honors in assists with 4.
“Kyle has given us a spark in the last couple of games. He has really come into to own the last few weeks both in practice and in competition. Kyle is a hard worker and it is gratifying to see that work pay off with this honor,” stated Coach Bob Gustavson upon learning of the selection.
