Springdale voters to decide street tax
(August 11, 2003) — (Springdale-AP) -- Voters in Springdale will go to the polls tomorrow to decide if they want to pay an extra penny of sales tax to improve the city's streets. The sales tax is proposed to pay off a 105 (m) million dollar bond issue. That money would be used to pay for city street projects that supporters say would move traffic better throughout the city. Mayor Jerre Van Hoose said plans call for resurfacing 35 miles of streets and building 17 miles of major thoroughfares.
