Siloam Springs, Arkansas (March 28, 2012) — Audrey Dearien, a six-foot middle blocker/outside hitter from Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco, Texas, has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at JBU next year.

“We are so excited about the level of play that Audrey will bring to JBU volleyball, and we expect great things from her,” said head volleyball coach Stacie Johnson.  “She should be an immediate impact for our offense, as well as contribute to our defense.”

During her high school career, Dearien has garnered numerous academic and athletic accolades and volleyball honors including the following:

  • 2011 - Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools(TAPPS) 3, Academic All-State, Volleyball
  • 2011 - TAPPS 3, Academic All-State, Track and Field
  • 2011 - TAPPS 3, 2nd Team All-State, Track and Field
  • 2011 - TAPPS 3, 2nd place state shot put
  • 2011 - Legacy Christian Academy, Track and Field, Field Events Team MVP
  • 2011 - TAPPS 3A Final Four and All-Tournament Team; 2nd Team All-State TAPPS 3-3A First Team All-District and Co-Offensive Player of the Year voted team captain; HS team MVP McKinney Christian Academy Tournament - All Tournament Team 2010 - TAPPS 3-3A First Team All-District; HS team Offensive Player of the Year voted most improved player by club team, Skyline 162 RoShamBo
  • 2010 - TAPPS 3, 4th place state shot put 2010 - Legacy Christian Academy, Track and Field, Field Events Team MVP
  • 2009 - TAPPS 3-3A First Team All-District and Tri-Blocker of the Year; HS team MVP
  • 2008 - TAPPS 3-3A Second Team All District

Dearien, who has a 3.87 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society, plans to major in engineering.
