JBU's women's basketball team stole a win from conference opponent Southern Nazarene (Okla.) 80-67 Thursday night in Bill George Arena.

The Lady Eagles now hold a record of 11-12 overall and 5-10 in the SAC. SNU dropped to 16-8 overall and 10-6 in conference play.

Four JBU players finished in double digits, led by Jessica Berlin with 21 points, followed by Chelsea Garrison with 14, Kami Garrison with 13, and Sierra Shipley with 12. Anna Parrish led JBU in assists with four followed by Kortni Barenberg with three. Barenberg also played well under the basket leading JBU with nine rebounds, followed by Anna Parish with six.

SNU also had four players finish with double digits. Abbey Marra led with 22, followed by Logan Martin, Oumoul Thiam and Ashley Mantooth with 13, 11, and 10. Martin led Southern Nazarene in assists with seven.

The Lady Eagles began the game with quickness and accuracy as they reached an 11-point lead by the 15:41 mark with a three-pointer sunk by Jessica Berlin. JBU was able to keep the lead the entire first half, finishing ahead 41-24.

JBU came out for the second half unwilling to give up their lead. As Southern Nazarene began the second half slowly catching up, JBU stopped them from ever reaching a deficit under 11 points. The highest lead the Lady Eagles had throughout the game was 18 points at the 13:00 mark with a three-pointer made by Sierra Shipley giving JBU the 55-37 lead. Towards the end of the game, SNU tried to foul to save time, but the Lady Eagles shot 90 percent (27/30) from the free throw line allowing no chance for the Crimson Storm to catch up before time ran out.

Overall, JBU had a higher scoring percentage from the three-point line with 41.2 percent (7/17) to SNU's 18.8 (3/16). However, SNU had the higher scoring percentage from field goal range with 43.5 percent (27/62) to JBU's 42.6 percent (23/54).  JBU out-rebounded SNU 46 to 29.

The Lady Eagles will face the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Saturday Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. on the road.
