Lady Eagles looking to extend win streak
Siloam Springs, Arkansas (February 2, 2012) — The Lady Golden Eagles will face No.15 Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) on Thursday night in the Bill George Arena at 6 p.m. On Saturday they will play the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on the road at 3 p.m.
ABOUT THE LADY GOLDEN EAGLES: The Lady Eagles are currently tenth in the SAC with a season 10-12, 4-10 in conference. They won their last match against Oklahoma Baptist 65-52.
Sophomore guard Jessica Berlin is JBU’s leading scorer with 11.55 ppg followed by fellow sophomore guard Sierra Shipley with 11.40 ppg. Senior point guard Chelsea Garrison is leading the team in rebounds with 4.86 rpg followed by freshman forward Morgan Ankrom with 4.64 rpg. As a team, the Lady Eagles have held their opponents to an average of 56.96 ppg while averaging 60.59 ppg.
ABOUT THE SNU LADY CRIMSON STORM: SNU has a season record of 16-6, 10-4 in conference and are the third seed in the SAC. SNU lost their last game on the road against Lubbock Christian. Senior guard Logan Martin is the team’s leading scorer with 13.50 ppg followed by junior guard Oumoul Thiam with 13.23 ppg. Senior center Abbey Marra is leading SNU in rebounds with 9.14 rpg followed by junior center/forward Annie Kassongo with 4.50 rpg. As a team, they average 69.00 ppg while holding their opponents to 60.91.
ABOUT THE USAO LADY DROVERS: USAO is currently the twelfth seed in the SAC and have a season record of 5-16, 2-12 in conference. They lost 73-40 last Saturday against Wayland Baptist. The Lady Drover’s leading scorer is sophomore Paige Pullman with 14.47 ppg followed by senior forward Liberty Payne with 10.95 ppg. Junior forward Tashina Ototio is their leading rebounder with 6.86 rpg followed by Payne with 4.91 rpg. As a team the average 55.43 ppg and thei opponent averages 73.24 ppg.
