“The Three Musketeers” To Open at JBU
Siloam Springs, Arkansas (February 2, 2012) — The John Brown University drama department will present “The Three Musketeers” for four performances Feb. 17-25 in the Berry Performing Arts Center.
Based on the novel, by Alexandre Dumas, the story follows heroes d’Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis in their quest to defend the honor of the Queen of France. The play is an adaptation by playwright Ken Ludwig.
“There are highly charged, active fight scenes which required actors to take lessons from a fight director,” said performance director Jan Lauderdale. “The actors are very talented and quickly picked up fighting techniques and basic fencing.”
The performance involves 20 cast members along with five support crew members, a fight director, assistant fight director, choreographer and other ancillary crew members.
Performances will be Feb. 17 at 8 p.m., Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. and Feb. 24-25 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and $8 for students, and may be purchased at www.jbu.edu/tickets. For more information, please call 479-524-7382. Reservations are recommended.
