JBU nominated for "Best Under-the-Radar" basketball atmosphere

Chicago (January 30, 2012) — John Brown is nominated for ”Best Under-the-Radar College Basketball Atmosphere" presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Intersport announced today. The “Under-the-Radar” competition will find the craziest, loudest, unique, tradition-rich game-day atmospheres which are lesser-known nationally. Nine other schools are nominated and the winner will have an in-depth feature during the “GEICO Best of College Basketball” special which airs March 25, at 3 P.M. ET. on CBS Sports.
John Brown is home to one of the most loyal fan bases and distinctive traditions in college basketball. For the last 30 years, the Golden Eagle faithful show up en masse to the first home game of the year, ready to litter the court with rolls upon rolls of toilet paper after the first John Brown basket of the year. The nine other schools nominated for “Best Under-the-Radar College Basketball Atmosphere” presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car are: Dayton, Missouri State, New Mexico, North Carolina A&T, Northern Iowa, San Diego State, Taylor, Utah State, and Western Kentucky.
