Men seek fourth consecutive road win before heading home

The Golden Eagles will take on St. Gregory’s University Thursday night at 8 p.m. on the road before returning home to the Bill George Arena on Saturday to face No. 3 Oklahoma Baptist University at 5 p.m.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES:  The Eagles are currently fifth in the Sooner Athletic Conference after two wins on the road against Wayland Baptist University and Lubbock Christian University.  This puts JBU at a season record of 15-5, 7-5 in conference. 

Senior forward Adrian Miller is currently JBU’s leading scorer with 14.30 ppg followed by junior guard Coleson Rakestraw with 12.20 ppg.  Senior forward Andy Garcia is leading the Eagles in rebounds with 6.94 rpg followed by Miller with 6.0 rpg.  The team as a whole averages 78.50 ppg while holding their opponents to 64.75 ppg.  JBU is currently first in the division in total defensive rebounds with 27.15 and in 3-point percentage with 42.6 percent. 

ABOUT THE SGU CAVALIERS:  The Cavaliers currently have a record of 4-13, 1-10 in conference and are in the 12th seed in the SAC.  Their last game against Oklahoma Baptist resulted in a 71-59 loss for SGU.  Their top scorer is junior guard Fayzon Richey with 20.39 ppg followed by freshman guard Ron Waller with 11.29.  Waller is currently the team’s leading rebounder with 5.47 rpg followed by sophomore guard Brandon Jackson with 4.28 rpg.

ABOUT THE OBU BISONS:  The Bisons are the top seeded team in the SAC along with the third ranked team in the division with a record of 16-2, 9-2 in conference. OBU’s only two losses of the season were against Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene University.  Their leading scorer is senior Emmanuel Wilson with 17.95 ppg followed by freshman Deangelo McIntosh with 17 ppg.  McIntosh is leading OBU in rebounds with 6.63 rpg followed by sophomore Derick Echols with 6.26 rpg.  As a team, the Bisons put up 80.58 ppg while holding their opponents to 58.42 ppg.  They are second in the division in scoring defense per game with 58.421 and in scoring margin with 22.158.
