Golden Eagles rout Ambassadors
Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 5, 2011) — The JBU men’s basketball team improved to 3-0 on the year after dismantling Ozark Christian (Mo.) 72-42 in non-conference play on Saturday afternoon in Bill George Arena.
Senior Adrian Miller led three double digit scorers for JBU with 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Freshman Max Hopfgartner and sophomore EJ McWoods each poured in 10 points.
For Ozark Christian, Paden Bennett finished with 10 points and two rebounds.
JBU jumped out of the gates with a 6-0 run after a pair of treys from Hopfgartner and junior Coleson Rakestraw. Midway through the half, JBU pushed their lead to as many as 15, 19-4, before OC responded with a mini-run to cut it back to 11 after a bucket by Austin Weece.
JBU regrouped and pushed their lead to 30 at halftime, 42-12.
In the second half, JBU increased their lead to as many as 38 before cruising to the easy 30 point victory.
For the game, JBU shot 43.6% (24-55) from the field, including 45.5% (10-22) from long range. OC, meanwhile, only hit 39.1% (18-46) of their attempts. JBU took the rebounding battle 38-22.
