John Brown University’s women’s soccer team lost 4-1 against Southern Nazarene (Okla.) Saturday afternoon during homecoming weekend, bringing their overall record to 3-6-1 and 1-3 in conference play.

JBU’s junior defender Cheyenne Padgett scored first for the Golden Eagles in the 10th minute of the game. After a long break away, Padgett’s shot was blocked by the goalie, deflected off the post and found its way back to Padgett’s feet for an easy tap to the back of the net.

SNU answered in the 36th minute with a goal by Mallary Schaub assisted by Jackie Acevedo. Later, Acevedo would make a goal unassisted during the last minute of the first half.

During the second half, JBU was unable to find an answer to any of SNU’s goals. SNU continued to cushion their lead with two more goals. Acevedo scored again with an assist by Kayla Thompson in the 67th minute, and Kendra Nixon scored assisted by Bruna De Cas in the 77th minute bringing SNU to a total of four goals.

The Lady Eagles’ next game is Thursday, October 13, at 2:00 p.m. against Northwestern Oklahoma State at Alumni Field.
