The JBU Lady Eagles were 4-0 at the Baker University Invitational this weekend, giving them a season record of 9-4.
JBU played their first match on Friday against Sterling (Kan.) with an end score of 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-22). Allie Rankin led the team offensively with 10 kills, followed by Staci Williamson with nine and Erin McIlroy with six. Staci Williamson led defensively with 20 digs followed by Sarah Jordan with 18 and Erin Didier with 15.
The Lady Eagles won their second match against Ottawa (Kan.) 3-1 (25-22, 25-15, 17-25, 25-19). Williamson paced the team defensively with 22 digs while Didier led offensively with 20 kills.
JBU played well Saturday as well, beating both of their opponents 3-1. In their first match against Benedictine (Kan.) (25-11, 25-17, 19-25, 25-22), Didier had 17 kills followed by Williamson and Rankin with 11 and 10 kills respectively. JBU had a total of 62 digs, 15 coming from Jordan and 14 from Didier.
The Lady Eagles finished the weekend defeating tournament host Baker (Kan.) (17-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-22). JBU had a team total of 108 digs against Baker, 33 coming from Jordan, 23 from Didier and 19 from Williamson. Offensively the team had 54 kills led by Didier with 17, McIlroy with 15 and Rankin with 10.
The Lady Eagles will play their next match in Oklahoma City against Mid-America Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.
