Women’s Soccer falls to Texas Wesleyan on the road

Freshman Madi Susmilch scored JBU's lone goal on Friday afternoon.

John Brown University‘s women’s soccer team now has a record of 1-1-1 after falling 2-1 to Texas Wesleyan on the road Friday afternoon.

JBU took a quick lead early in the game after Madi Susmilch, assisted by Casey O’Brien, found the back of the net at the 22:24 mark. JBU held onto the lead into halftime.

In the second half, Texas Wesleyan came back with a goal by Jessica Watton at the 59:32 mark, which tied the game. After battling for the lead, Texas Wesleyan scored at the 70:53 mark by Paige Wheaton.

Texas Wesleyan took a total of 11 shots on goal and JBU took a total of 16, however the Eagles were not able to tie the game before the clock ran out.

JBU women’s soccer team will be back in action to play Northwood on the road Saturday, September 3.
