Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 21, 2011) — The JBU men’s basketball team defeated St. Gregory’s (Okla.) 78-64 in their final home game of the year on Monday night in Bill George Arena.

With the win, the men improve to 21-7 overall and 13-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.  SGU, meanwhile, drops to 5-19 overall and 2-18 in the SAC.

Ryland Allen had a career night for the Golden Eagles after going 6-of-10 downtown en route to a 24 point performance.  Andrius Mikutis was the only other Eagle in double figures with 10.

For SGU, three players finished in double digits led by Dylan Lemley with 17.  Brandon Jackson added 16, and the SAC’s leading scorer Fayzon Richey was held to 15.   

Overall, JBU shot 47.3 percent (26-of-55) while allowing SGU to shoot 44.7 percent (21-of-47).  JBU won the rebounding battle 36-28.  And both teams committed 15 turnovers. 

The men look to close out the regular season on the road when they travel to Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Thursday for an 8 p.m. tilt.  Then they head to Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Saturday for a 3 p.m. matchup.
