Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 21, 2011) - The JBU women’s basketball team came away with a 53-51 win over St. Gregory’s (Okla.) on Monday night in Bill George Arena.
The win helps the ladies improve to 20-8 overall and 14-6 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. SGU, meanwhile, drops to 6-21 overall and 2-18 in the SAC.
Kortni Kendrick led JBU with 15 points and seven rebounds. And Sierra Shipley added 10 points.
For SGU, Leticia Silva and Jalisa Howard finished with 20 and 18 points respectively for 38 of the 51 Lady Cavalier points.
Overall, JBU shot 36.5 percent (19-of-52) while allowing SGU to shoot 39.6 percent (21-of-53). JBU also loss the rebounding battle 34-36, but did manage to force 15 turnovers while committing only 11.
The ladies look to close out the regular season on the road when they travel to Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Thursday for a 6 p.m. tilt. Then they head to Wayland Baptist on Saturday for a 1 p.m. matchup.
