Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 27, 2011) - The JBU women’s basketball team returned to the win column on Thursday night after disposing of Northwestern Okla. State 51-32 in Sooner Athletic Conference action.
With the win, JBU improved to 16-5 overall and 10-3 in the SAC. Meanwhile, NOSU dropped to 8-10 and 4-9.
Jordyn Ferrell led the Lady Eagles with 14 points and three rebounds, while Audrey Richmond scored 10 to lead the Lady Rangers.
JBU used a strong first half to widen the gap early and led by 12, 29-17, at halftime.
The Lady Eagles continued to pour it on in the second half, and NOSU couldn’t find an answer to the Lady Eagles attack. JBU increased their lead to as many as 26 at one point before cruising to the 19 point win.
For the game, JBU shot 32.7 percent (17-of-52), while holding NOSU to 25 percent (14-of-56). JBU also dominated the glass, winning the 47-39 on the boards.
Up next, JBU travels to Oklahoma City to face Oklahoma Christian on Saturday at 6 p.m.
