Decatur, Ga. (November 4, 2010) — The women’s basketball team completed their season opening trip to the Lone State state by defeating Jarvis Christian 75-60 Wednesday evening. The win improves the ladies to 2-0 on the year.

Junior Chelsea Garrison led JBU with 17 points and 11 rebounds. She was followed by senior Ashley Taylor with 14 points and seven rebounds. Senior Katie Mangels also finished with 14 after going 4-of-6 from downtown.

Daronica Williams had a game high 18 points to lead Jarvis Christian.

Overall JBU shot 46% (28-61) from the floor including a blistering 57% (8-14) from the three point line. Jarvis, meanwhile, shot 32% (22-68) including 50% (9-18) from three.

The women return home next Tuesday for their season opener against Evangel (Mo.) at 7 p.m.
