Women's soccer picks up 100th win on Saturday

Lubbock, Texas (October 30, 2010) — The JBU women’s soccer team kept their win streak intact after defeating Lubbock Christian 2-0 on Saturday in Lubbock, Texas. With the win, the ladies improve to 12-3-1 overall and 8-2 in the SAC. The win is also the 100th in the history of the program, which began in 2002.

After a scoreless first period, JBU came out determined to make a statement in the second half. Senior Camille Malkiewicz put the Eagles on the board in the 58th minute after taking the pass from senior Jodi Knack. And in the 89th, a goalie mishandle led to a second JBU goal just before time expired.

JBU outshot LCU (8-7-2, 2-6-2 SAC) 17-12 with an 8-6 shots on goal advantage.

Sophomore Faith Thurman earned the shutout with six saves.

The ladies close out the regular season on the road against Oklahoma Christian on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
