Women soar over Lady Drovers

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 26, 2010) — In their final regular season match of the year, the JBU women’s soccer team disposed of Science and Arts of Okla. 7-1 at home on Tuesday afternoon. The win moves the women to 11-3-1 overall and into third place in the SAC with a 7-2 record.

JBU took a few minutes to get going and allowed USAO (8-6-1, 4-5 SAC) to get on the board in the third minute when Annie Zoch finished the feed from Gabby Martinez. This accelerated JBU’s intensity, and it was all over from here. JBU went on to allow only four more Lady Drover shots in the match, while proceeding to score seven unanswered goals.

Senior Sarah Kidd finished with two goals and three assists, while running mate and fellow senior Camille Malkiewicz also added two goals to go along with an assist. Senior Jodi Knack also added to her goal total and tallied an assist. And sophomore Cheyenne Padgett and freshman Ashley Cochran had a goal and an assist respectively. JBU’s final goal came off of an own goal from USAO in the 88th minute.

The ladies will finish out of the year on the road when they travel to Lubbock, Texas to take on Lubbock Christian on Saturday at 11 a.m. Then they’ll play their final match next Tuesday against Oklahoma Christian in Oklahoma City at 6 p.m.
