Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 27, 2010) - John Brown University faculty, staff and students will open the Berry Performing Arts Center’s first dramatic production, “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling on Friday Oct. 1 at 7:30 pm.
Based on a true story, Steel Magnolias features a group of Southern belles who gossip in their local beauty shop. Jan Lauderdale, play director, said “the play’s use of humor within the girls’ daily banter gives the audience a good look into personalities of close-knit friends working through life together.”
Performances will be Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 8 at 3:00 p.m., and Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. Reservations may be made by calling 479-524-7382. Ticket prices are $9 for adults, $7 for JBU alumni and senior citizens, and $5 for non-JBU students. JBU students are admitted free one time with student ID.
