Columbia, Mo. (August 28, 2010) — The JBU men's soccer team came up empty in their season opener losing 1-0 against No. 17 Columbia (Mo.) College in road action on Saturday.

Both teams went scoreless in the first half, but Columbia put up the first and only score of the match in the 68th minute when junior John Hutchinson scored from the twenty off the assist from Tim Telvin.

The Cougars out shot the Golden Eagls 19-15 with a 7-3 shots-on-goal advantage.

Freshman Pablo Garcia picked up six saves in the loss for JBU.

The men will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 4 for their home opener against Northwood (Texas) University at 1 p.m.
