Siloam Springs, Ark. (July 28, 2010) - The National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics has announced that the JBU women’s tennis and volleyball teams have both earned the NAIA’s Scholar Team award for their work in the classroom last school year.
For a team to be considered an NAIA Scholar Team, they must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average must include all varsity athletes certified as eligible.
Women’s tennis finished 40th overall with a 3.60, and volleyball finished with a 3.19.
Iowa Wesleyan’s women’s volleyball team claimed the top spot with a 3.82 grade point average.
