Women's Soccer inks three

Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 20, 2010) — Head coach Joe Thoma today announced the names of three recruits that have signed national letters of intent to play women’s soccer for the JBU in the fall. Amber Smith of El Paso, Texas, Laura Bradshaw of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Alysan Burgbacher of Springfield, Mo. will all don the blue and gold next season.

Smith, a 5-5 forward, was an All-District Honorable Mention while playing for Coronado High School. She also competed for the Xtreme club team.

Bradshaw, who stands at 5-3, was the All-District MVP Defender during her senior season at King High School. She was also a named to the All-District Academic Team after posting a 3.59 grade point average.

Burgbacher, a 5-8 goalkeeper from New Covenant Academy, is a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is also an honor student with a 3.85 GPA.

“We are very excited about our new additions to the team,” said Thoma. “I know that Amber, Laura, and Alysan will all provide added depth to the field and add even more to the JBU community.”
