Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 24, 2010) — The JBU men’s golf team finished 10th of 11 teams in the two-day Doyle Wallace Classic hosted by Henderson State (Ark.) at the Hot Springs Country Club on Feb. 22-23. The team shot a two-day total of 662 on the par 72 course that stretches 6,852 yards.

Arkansas Tech won the tournament after shooting 606, and tournament host Henderson State placed third with a score of 612.

Individually, sophomore West Loveland topped the JBU performances with a 17-over par 161. He finished tied for 36th. Freshman Taylor Mullings and sophomore Matt Brooker both tied for 49th after shooting 166, and junior Jeff Hobble rounded out the scoring for JBU with a 169 for 57th.

Henderson State’s Ben Cuzen won the tournament after shooting a three-under 141.

The JBU men will return to competition on Mar. 14-15 when they participate in the Texas Wesleyan Intercollegiate at Hawks Creek Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
