Claremore, Okla. (December 10, 2009) — The JBU women’s basketball team fell 48-44 to Rogers State (Okla.) on Thursday night in Sooner Athletic Conference action at the Expo Center in Claremore.

Freshman Anna Parish paced JBU (5-5, 2-2) with 10 points and five rebounds. Junior Ashley Taylor added eight points and 10 boards as she surpassed the 1,000 point mark. She currently sits at 1,001 career points.

RSU (8-1, 2-1) got a game high 18 points, four rebounds, and five blocks from Jenny Hardin.

Overall, JBU struggled from the floor nailing only 26.8% (15-56) from the floor, while giving up 29.1% (16-55) to RSU. JBU won the rebounding fight 46-43, but turned the ball over 21 times to 18 from RSU.

The ladies return to action when they travel to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. to compete in the Nova Southeastern Cruzin Classic on December 18-19. On the 18th, they face Saint Xavier (Ill.) at 4 p.m. ET, and on Saturday the 19th they’ll take on Mayville State (N.D.) at 2 p.m. ET.
