KLRC Listeners “Pay it Forward” with Random Acts of Kindness
Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 10, 2009) - 101.1 FM KLRC has again teamed up with Arvest Bank to spread goodwill throughout Northwest Arkansas by encouraging people to “Pay It Forward” through random acts of kindness.
“‘Pay it Forward’ inspires us all to look for ways we can show love in tangible ways with our community,” said Keri Lynn, KLRC morning show host and promotions director. “Already this year our listeners have been able to ‘Pay it Forward’ to an elderly homebound couple in need of a garbage disposal, and provide warm socks to the homeless and needy in Fayetteville. The best part is this is just the beginning of a month filled with generosity.” This year, in commemoration of KLRC’s 25 years of making a positive difference in Northwest Arkansas, the station has asked listeners to “Pay It Forward” for 25 days in November.
Beginning Nov. 1, KLRC started asking listeners to go to KLRC.com and let them know how they would “Pay it Forward” if they were given $101. Thanks to Arvest Bank, three listeners will be selected from the submissions and given a check for $101 to use for their “Pay it Forward” plan. The “Pay it Forward” plans chosen to be carried out will be announced during the “KLRC Morning Show” on Fridays during the month of November. Highlights will also be featured on www.KLRC.com.
KLRC's Drive-Thru Difference day is also returning this year. On Thursday, Nov. 12 listeners will be invited to join hundreds of others in Northwest Arkansas who will make a positive difference by simply paying for the car behind them in the drive-thru line.
KLRC and Arvest are also teaming up with Good Neighbor Food Drive to help feed families in the community. Listeners will be able to stop by select NWA Arvest locations and drop off non-perishable food items to be given to families in need from Nov. 13-25.
