Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 31, 2009) — The JBU women’s soccer team closed out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 shutout against Northwestern Okla. State in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The win moves the ladies to 12-5 on the year and solidifies the number one seed heading into next week’s SAC tournament after finishing conference play with a 9-1 record.

JBU netted both goals in the second half. Camille Malkiewicz scored unassisted in the 53rd minute, and Cheyenne Padgett scored her first goal of the year after blasting a left footed shot past the keeper from about 22 yards out in the 76th. Sarah Kidd picked up an assist.

For the game, JBU controlled time of possession for nearly the entire match and outshot NOSU (1-15, 1-8) 43-0. NOSU’s keeper Dana Gandolfo picked up 14 saves in the loss.
