Chickasha, Okla. (February 12, 2009) — The John Brown University women’s basketball team finished on the short end of a 69-60 decision versus Science & Arts of Okla. in Chickasha on Thursday night. With the loss, JBU drops to 12-13 overall and 6-11 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Ashley Taylor led JBU with 17 points and four rebounds, while Chelsea Garrison and LeNece Glossett added 11 each with five and four boards respectively.

For USAO (13-11, 7-9), Ivaney Marquez finished with the double-double after leading all scorers with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

On the night, the Lady Golden Eagles hit 34.5% (19-55) of their attempts, including a dismal 15.4% (2-13) from three point territory.

JBU also struggled on the glass after giving up the rebounding battle 48-34.

USAO finished a little better from the floor after canning 36.5% (26-63) overall including 33% (7-21) from long distance. The Lady Drovers also forced 23 turnovers while only committing 19.

Up next, JBU remains on the road when they travel to Bethany, Okla. to take on the 14th ranked Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene on Saturday at 6 p.m.
