JBU Registrar Named Administrator/Supervisor of the Year
Siloam Springs, Ark (November 27, 2000) — Dr. Paul Hines, assistant professor of counselor education and registrar at John Brown University recently received the Arkansas School Counselor Association (ArSCA) as Administrator/ Supervisor of the Year award at their November conference held in Hot Springs.
The ArSCA is the professional organization for the support, dissemination of information, and professional enhancement of Arkansas school counselors. Hines' role as a university professor in school counseling has allowed him the opportunity to be a member of this organization.
Dr. Hines teaches counselor education practicum course at JBU in which he works with public school counselors and counselor interns who are completing their master's degree in counselor education. The practicum class, developed by Hines, provides interns with real-world experiences. The class focuses on preparing teachers to be effective school counselors upon completion of the master's degree program.
