JBU Construction Management Awarded $5,000 Scholarship

Siloam Springs, Ark (December 4, 2000) — The Construction Management Division of John Brown University was recently presented with a $5,000 check by the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE). The check was awarded to JBU for winning the ASPE Mock Bid Competition.

Mr. Jim Caldwell, associate professor of construction management, accepted the check on behalf of the JBU construction management department. This amount will be added to the existing scholarship fund that the American Society of Professional Estimators has given to in the past.

"JBU is very fortunate to have the support of ASPE. This scholarship will help encourage our students to pursue a career in the field of construction cost estimating and participate in professional organizations," said Caldwell. "ASPE promotes many of the same ideals that JBU does, especially in the area of ethics in bidding."

John Brown University is a private university with an enrollment of over 1,500 students from 46 states and 30 countries. JBU is a member of the Arkansas Independent Colleges and Universities and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
