Alva, Okla. (October 25, 2008) - John Brown scored three goals in the first 17 minutes of the game to take and sit on a 3-0 lead, defeating Northwestern 3-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference action at the Alva Rec. Complex on Saturday, Oct. 25. With the win, JBU moves to 11-4-1 overall and 7-1-1 in conference play.
John Brown scored quick and took a 1-0 lead during the fifth minute of play after Camille Malkiewicz notched her sixth goal on the year. Just more than ten minutes later, the Golden Eagles received an own goal, after a Ranger player deflected a ball into the net. JBU followed a minute later with another goal after Jodi Knack fed Stacie Burley for her third goal on the year.
Ashley Guinn scored the lone Ranger goal and team leading fifth of the season on an assist from Hannah Layden during the 72 minute.
Sophomore keeper Brittany Henderson picked up the win for the ladies after recording six saves.
Up next, the women face Rogers State (Okla.) in Claremore on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
