Women Win Dig Pink Game

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 17, 2008) — The John Brown University women’s volleyball team defeated Mid America Christian (Okla.) 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-15) to win the “Dig Pink” game on Thursday night in Murray Sells.

Doing their part to raise awareness for breast cancer, both teams took the court sporting pink jerseys. However, it was the JBU pink that came out on top.

Offensively, senior Laurae Marty led the team with 11 kills while sophomore Kirsten Lee picked up nine.

Defensively, junior Shannon Proctor totaled 15 digs with sophomore Amber Wilson earning five blocks. JBU totaled 10 blocks as a team.

With the win, JBU (14-8, 5-2) remains undefeated at home winning their last six games. Up next, the women play at St. Gregory’s (Okla.) on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
