Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 9, 2008) - The John Brown University women’s soccer team continued to show their dominance in the SAC on Thursday afternoon after defeating Wayland Baptist (Texas) 4-0.
JBU (8-3, 4-0) scored early and often in the first half. Sophomore Camille Malkiewicz got things rolling after scoring from 30 yards out unassisted in the 2nd minute of play.
Then in the 11th minute senior Stacie Burley got free on a breakaway and beat the keeper for the 2-0 lead. Later in the period, sophomore Ashleigh Noble collected her third goal of the year after finding the back of the net unassisted. And senior Rachel Gerdin added to the point total when she scored at the 44:39 mark for the 4-0 lead heading into the break.
In the second half, the ladies were off the mark as WBU (1-6-1) was able to hold them scoreless. For the game, JBU outshot WBU 30-2 with a 14-2 shot on goal differential.
Both JBU keepers, senior Megan Rouse and sophomore Brittany Henderson, split keeper duties and picked up a save each.
