April Kennedy is First Student Accepted at JBU for Fall 2000

Siloam Springs, Ark (January 17, 2000) — April Kennedy, of Norphlet, AR, was the first student to apply and be accepted into the freshmen class of 2000 at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR.

Kennedy is a senior at West Side Christian School in El Dorado, AR. She is an honors student with an ACT score of 25 and a GPA of 3.72.

Kennedy first heard about JBU when she saw information about the university on a bulletin board and heard about JBU from her choir teacher who is a JBU graduate. After visiting JBU with a friend over the summer, she applied on July 22 and was accepted on August 26, becoming the first accepted student for fall 2000. Kennedy plans to major in Psychology and would like to be a counselor some day. She is also interested in music and choir.
