Men’s Soccer Signs Oklahoma Native
Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 7, 2008) — Austin Toppins, from Grace Christian School in Broken Arrow, Okla., has signed a national letter of intent to play men’s soccer for JBU in the fall.
Toppins, who was a three-time all-state selection and two-time team most valuable player, captained Grace Christian’s squad throughout his sophomore to senior years.
Also a member of the Tulsa Thunder Soccer Club, Toppins has competed against some of the best competition and played under some of the top coaches in Oklahoma.
“Austin will be a great addition to JBU and our soccer program,” said head coach Bob Gustavson. “He’s a smart player who will add depth to our defense, and with his experience he will be well prepared to step up to the college game.”
Toppins, who has been named Who’s Who in America, is currently a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society, Tulsa Technology Center Sports Medicine Program.
