Shawnee, Okla. (February 28, 2008) - It wasn’t much of a contest on Thursday night in Shawnee, Okla. as the John Brown Lady Golden Eagles walked to an 81-52 win over St. Gregory’s.
With the win, JBU improves to 10-19 overall and 5-16 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The ladies were ahead 15 at halftime, 36-21 after shooting an impressive 45% (13-29) in the first half. They continued their hot shooting in the second half improving to 57% (16-28) which put them at 51% for the game, which included 59% (13-22) from beyond three-point range.
Freshman forward Ashley Taylor led the way with 18 points and six rebounds. Teammates Lenece Glossett and Micaela Cully chipped in with 15 each, and Glossett also grabbed 10 boards. JBU also got 10 points from junior guard Claire Harrison.
For SGU (5-23, 3-18), two players finished in double digits. Abby Wolf and Melody Mattox each had 13 points.
