Women’s Soccer Inks Two More

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 22, 2008) — John Brown women’s soccer added two more players to the roster for next season after signing Anne Stringfield of Wichita, Kan. and Cam Martin of Tulsa.

Stringfield, a 5-5 forward from Trinity Christian Academy (Kan.) and the Wichita Magic club, earned 2nd Team All-Region honors while finishing off her career as the second leading goal scorer in Wichita.

“We are looking for Anne to be a goal scoring threat for JBU,” said head coach Joe Thoma. “She is a smart, hard working player that will be able to blend in well with Sarah [Kidd], Robyn [Cluka], and Stacie [Burley] up top.”

Martin, a 5-5 defender from Union High (Okla.) and the Hurricane FC club, helped guide her team to a state championship as a junior and currently captains the 2008 squad. She is also a member of the National Honor Society.

“Cam is a top notch defender and we look for her to step in immediately and help the defense that graduated all region standout Alison Boster,” said Thoma. “Her ability to lead a defense combined with the knack for getting involved in the attack should be a tremendous asset to our team for the next four years.”
