Claremore, Okla. (February 18, 2008) - John Brown men’s basketball gave up the 69-56 decision to Rogers State (Okla.) on Monday night in Claremore, Okla. Junior forward Roderick Rogers led RSU (16-8, 11-7) with 16 points and five rebounds, while Jason Coats chipped in with 14.
JBU had two players in double-figures with sophomore Davaughn Jackson and junior Wes Brown both scoring 12 points. After going ahead 32-27 at halftime, RSU increased their lead by as many as 13 late in the second half. JBU came within eight points with under three minutes remaining in the game, but that was as close as JBU would get as RSU pushed it back up to 13 as they held on for the win.
Now 9-17 overall and 2-16 in the SAC, JBU returns home on Thursday to take on Oklahoma Christian at 8 p.m.
